Meet the Little Italy Pocket Park & Sculpture
In 1998, the names of 66 families were inscribed on a granite bench at the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel to honor the Italian families who immigrated in the early 1900s.

In conjunction with the Little Italy Carnival and Masquerade Ball, the creation of a new pocket park will provide a permanent lasting memorial to families who lost their homes. It will provide a place for people to reflect on the destruction of urban renewal, and the loss of hundreds of homes and businesses.

A newly commissioned statue in the park will honor the culture, resilience and history of the North End and lost neighborhood of Portsmouth, known as Little Italy.

Contributions will support the hardscape, landscaping, design and implementation of the project. Sponsors are invited to attend the Community Feast and a ribbon cutting.
